January 30, 2020 AAOHA work continues to impress many not only in the Bronx and wider New York but across country as well. Heres a featured article on the World Today (Bota Sot) In the most populated area with Albanians in the Bronx, in the Pelham Park neighborhood, the Albanian-American "Open Hands" Association distributes food aid and clothing to individuals and families with low financial income. Its chairman, the former political persecuted by the communist regime in Albania Aleks Nilaj organizes the work in such a way that the aid arrives at the right time and destination. In these charitable processes, in addition to the members of this association, Alex is also greatly supported by his wife Mira, who not only takes care of the family and two young children, but is constantly engaged in distributing food to poor families.
